Sneak Peek at The Cabin

LumberjackMy next book, tentatively titled The Cabin, will most likely be released by Stormy Night Publications in September, but I thought it would be fun to share a quick snippet with you to see what you think!

For a bit of context, Kit is a struggling erotica author and Vaughn has taken it upon himself to break through her writer’s block, using every means available to him. And yes, this definitely includes spankings! In this scene, Kit has refused to eat her breakfast and, in his own indelible way, Vaughn is attempting to change her mind.

Enjoy!

Vaughn ripped her panties off, shredding the delicate fabric and biting into her tender pussy. And then the pain really started. Without further preamble, he began to pop his hand off her exposed cheeks, alternating sides before she could absorb the stinging shock of the blows.

Crack. Crack. Crack.

Every instinct in her body screamed at her to cover herself, but restrained as she was and with Vaughn’s implied threats looming largely, she bit down on her lower lip and whimpered through the fiery onslaught. And he showed no signs of stopping, peppering her without mercy. After twenty, she lost count. With her eyes screwed shut, she drew breath after rasping breath, unable to think about anything but the pain searing through her clenched ass. And about how much the spanking was sparking her desire. If the burn of his onslaught ran deep, the razor’s edge of her pleasure was just a hair’s breadth beyond, tantalizingly within reach and palpable in a way she’d never anticipated. Yet the intense ache continued to build and she knew she wouldn’t be able to withstand much more, despite wanting to tap into the itch he’d just begun to scratch.

Crack. Crack. Crack.

“You can stop this, Kit. At any time. The choice is yours. Tell me you’re sorry and that you’ll eat your breakfast like a good girl.” Even as he spoke to her in his measured voice, he didn’t let up on her for a moment. If anything, his spanking had grown more insistent. And Kit knew she was done for. If this was the kind of pain she’d subjected her heroines to throughout the years, she owed each and every one of them a sincere apology and a few bottles of wine as a peace offering.

With a blistering burn scalding her rear end and thighs and with no reprieve in sight, she let out a plaintive wail, finally giving voice to the pain she’d been bottling up since the very first spank. “Please! Please stop!” she cried.

“Tell me what I want to hear and I’ll stop.”

Crack. Crack. Crack.

“I-I’m sorry, okay?” she pleaded. “I’m sorry and I’ll eat my breakfast like a good girl. Please!” A few tears fell from her eyes down to the wooden slats below, a tiny puddle of agony beneath her.

“Good girl, Kit. Very good. Now, I want you to remember this the next time you decide to disobey me.” He caressed her burning ass and, now that the immediate source of her pain had disappeared, she was surprised by how much she was turned on by the exchange between them. While the spanking had been painfully exquisite and unsettling, it was his manner that captivated her. The raw dominance he displayed. The tacit understanding that he was in charge. Evidently, he noticed her arousal as well. “Hmm, it looks like my new little submissive may have enjoyed her first punishment a little, yeah?” He ran the tip of his index finger along her glistening slit, just barely grazing her clit before drawing it all the way to her tight anus. Circling her rim with her essence and causing her to clench, he leaned into her body and whispered into her ear, “Tell me that you liked your spanking and I’ll let you come. C’mon, Kit, you know you want to. Look how turned on you are.” He traced his middle finger along her slit, coating himself in her arousal before holding it before her. “You liked it, didn’t you?”

And I hope you liked it too! Thanks for reading.

Triple Play Q&A with Sara Fields

Hello all and thanks for joining me for the second installment of the Triple Play Q&A! Just as a quick recap of the forum, our featured author will provide us with a quick intro of themselves and their work and then they’ll respond to three random questions – some legit, some silly as sh*t!

This week’s author is quite the busy bee and is known to many of you in the erotica world. She’s been a source of support, encouragement, and advice for numerous authors, including yours truly, and enjoys a reputation as an all-around superhero in our bright little corner of the fiction universe! In fact, in one of her Triple Play responses, she’s going to tell us which superhero she’d be and why (hint: it involves a Caribbean island and writing lots of smut), so by all means, keep reading! And with that, I’d like to introduce this week’s author, the incomparable Sara Fields!

Welcome, Sara! Please tell us a bit about yourself…

Sara Fields - 1

I’m an author specializing in erotic spanking romance, who spends the day doing science, and writes by night and on weekends. My journey began quite a few years ago when I realized there was this tiny part of me that liked things a bit kinkier, in and out of the bedroom. I put on a brave face and attended a few spanking themed events and expanded my love of both spanking and BDSM over the years. During my time in the scene, I experienced all different sorts of kinks, from spanking to caning to electricity play. I’ve always loved reading and dabbled with writing here and there, so I finally decided to branch out and write some hot kinky fiction, so I could share the sexy fantasies that happen deep in the recesses of my dark and twisted mind.

Sara Fields - 2

And away we go with Sara’s Triple Play Q&A!!

What’s the best part about being an author?

I think the best part of being an author is being able to escape reality for a little while and enter my own little made up world, where kink is accepted and I can be myself (within the context of my characters). I love the freedom that exists within the genre I write it and it allows me to be as creative as possible.

Sara Fields - 3Do you use a pseudonym? If so, are you “out” to anyone? If not, has this caused you any issues?

I do use a pseudonym, mainly because of what I do for my vanilla job. Sara Fields also doubles as my scene name, which is the name I use when I go to kink or spanking themed events. I keep both lives pretty separate, so as of yet, it hasn’t caused me any issues.

And finally, if you were a superhero, who would you be and why?

I would be Mrs. Lucky Pants – that way I could play the lottery, win it all, move to a Caribbean island and live on the beach, and quit my vanilla job. That way – I could write smut all day, every day. And have like… a billion dogs.

Thank you for joining me, Sara, for this week’s Triple Play Q&A! If you’d like to contribute to Mrs. Lucky Pants’ Billion Dog Fund, well, I’ll let you know when we get it sorted out… 😉 And before signing off and sharing some links to showcase Sara Fields’ considerable talent, please allow me to feature a promo card for her upcoming book, Taming Their Pet. Can’t wait to read this one…that collar is stunning!

Triple Play Q&A with Katie Douglas

Hello all, and welcome to the inaugural installment of the Triple Play Q&A! Woohoo! Just as a little FYI, the idea behind the Triple Play Q&A is to feature one or two erotica/romance authors each week to showcase their work, to give them an outlet to share a bit about themselves, and to have them answer three questions – some serious, some seriously silly – in an effort to get to know them better. And for the opening salvo, have I got a treat for you!

Katie Douglas - 1Helping me kick off the series is none other than Katie Douglas, whose works run the gamut from Scottish historical to the farthest reaches of outer space…and they’re all hot as hell! A ménage savant, Katie’s work is nothing if not steamy, humorous, and playful at heart. Plus, from my own study of her novels (purely for research purposes, you understand) her heroes tend to be complete studs!

But perhaps I should let her introduce herself, right? Well, strap in and prepare yourself for wild twists and turns, exciting career changes, karaoke, and – wait for it – footgasms!!! I’ll let her explain that last one…

Welcome, Katie Douglas!!!

Thank-you for having me on your blog, Jaye! Well…I’m Katie Douglas. I’m 30 and a half. I write BDSM-focussed erotic romance with a generous helping of spanking, that usually features ageplay or menage (or both). I’m an orphan. I worked in the entertainment industry for quite a while, so I’ve had far too many jobs, notably being a pro-ice dancer, a pharmacy assistant, and I guess my main career after skating was as a chemistry teacher, but I am currently completing a master’s degree.

It’s weird, because ice skating actually led me to BDSM. I could not believe how much one person’s feet could hurt after skating in narrow, dainty ice skates for 12-16 hours straight, 6 days in a row. The impact from jumping and the centripetal force from spinning really takes its toll. At some point, one particular day, the pain flipped around into what I thought of as a footgasm. I giggled all the way home on the bus, then I hit Google to figure out WTF. I like to work hard and play hard, so writing BDSM erotic romance was the eventual logical progression.

I am now nearly done with my MSc in information science applied to a specific discipline. Highlights so far have been an internship in publishing, a second internship in archiving, and learning how to do 3D modeling.

In the future, I’d love to make adverts. Ever since I saw Darren in the TV show Bewitched, Katie Douglas - 2I’ve always been in love with well-designed print adverts and the copy that gets written for them. I spend quite a lot of pre-release time designing my books’ adverts and coming up with taglines for them, because I love doing it. When I’m done with studying, I’d like to start designing adverts for other people’s books, too. Adverts are the perfect mixture of words and imagery. So far, my favorite one that I’ve come up with was the “Take a break from ironing” ad for His Naughty Little Housewife. You too can take a break from ironing to read about someone else doing it. Lol.

And here we go with Katie’s Triple Play!

What does your writing space look like when you’re in the thick of a project?

Katie Douglas - 4It looks messy, but it’s that sort of organized chaos with everything in easy reach of the chair. I don’t know that the world is ready to know how many snacks I consume when I’m writing. If people weren’t supposed to snack so much, why are desks still so big in this day and age, when CRT monitors are a thing of the past? When I’m into a project, I will work 12-18 hours a day just on that one thing, until it’s done, so that takes a lot of sugar. Depending on the time of day, there would also be coffee.

If you were a character in a book or series of books, who would you be and why?

That’s a tough one, but probably Bertie Wooster out of the Jeeves and Wooster books by P.G. Wodehouse. I think I’m a little bit cognizant of the power dynamic between Jeeves and his “master” and I love the fact that, while theoretically Bertie’s the one in charge, and can dismiss Jeeves whenever he wants (like a sub can safeword), on a day-to-day basis, Jeeves totally runs things. In my version, I’d be doing the cooking and cleaning, though. Jeeves has impeccable judgement, rapier wit, he’s never badly-dressed, he knows everything about everything and he’s got his “master” so well trained. I adore Jeeves.

Bertie reflects a lot of my worst aspects. I’m this well-spoken, bungling, vapid, dilettante of a British person. I often stumble head over heels into social disasters of my own making, and my slightly old-fashioned dress sense often veers toward the interwar years. But, underneath it all, Bertie is a good sort, and will always help out a friend if they’re in the soup. I love the British 20s and 30s, it’s this heart-wrenchingly bygone era and I think it’s one of the reasons everyone outside Europe is so enamored with the UK. I want to go to that version of Britain, too! That’s where the idea for my upcoming series set in the 1920s came from. *cough* shameless plug *cough*

If it has to be a female character, I’m completely stumped. There’s so many great choices. Any Diana Wynne Jones character, for starters. Possibly Maree Mallory or Polly Whittacker. Diana Wynne Jones is so good at writing strong and interesting female characters. Lyra Belacqua from Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials series would have been accurate at one point. Or perhaps Arya Stark. I aspire to being Miss Marple when I’m older, so maybe her?

If you were to perform karaoke, which song would you pick and why?

That’s a tricky one! There’s so many good songs to choose from. In the past, I’ve indecisively scrutinized the list for hours. If I had to just pick something, it’d probably be something by Katy Perry or Britney Spears. Maybe California Gurls or 3.

Katie Douglas - 3

A crowd-pleaser, with fun, catchy lyrics I can bop along to and not feel especially grownup. I avoid emotional songs because I can’t sing when I get teary, so Everytime by Britney is off the list because it gets me… every time. Oh, that was a bad pun. I love most musical styles (except panpipes. Just get a flute already), and grownup me prefers prog rock or heavy metal, but Iron Maiden or Led Zeppelin are not really the best pick for karaoke. I don’t think being in adult space is the way to volunteer for karaoke, though!

Thank you, Katie, for starting off the Triple Play Q&A series with some serious panache!

Cranking It Out

The Shining

This post is a purely selfish one, and for that, I apologize. I’m taking a brief break from the final edits on my newest manuscript to remind myself to buckle down, leave the social media alone, tighten up my prose, fix my dialogue, spice up my spankings, and…

Crank. It. Out.

Let’s do this!

P.S. Did I mention the part about the spankings? Yeah, they’re coming along nicely…

Book Release Day!

CoverWOOHOOOOOO! After months of hard work and edits (and more edits and more edits and…), I’m incredibly pleased to announce the release of my newest erotica title, Under Daddy’s Roof. As always, I’m thankful to the outstanding team at Stormy Night Publications for helping to make this novel a reality, and to my wonderful husband for his ongoing support. In related news, it’s so much easier to be published when I don’t have to keep it a secret!

Here’s a little blurb to whet your appetite and to introduce you to Cassie and James. I hope you love them as much as I do! And if you’d like to get a copy, you can find it here on Amazon.

Happy reading!

When one late-night party too many finally gets her evicted from her apartment and her wild reputation makes finding another place in her small college town all but impossible, Cassie Brown quickly realizes she is in deep trouble.

James Forsythe is still healing from the tragic loss of the woman he loved, but meeting Cassie awakened a part of him he’d thought was gone forever, and over the months since then his desire to take the beautiful, feisty girl in hand has only grown stronger. Upon hearing about Cassie’s situation, James offers her a room in his home, but he makes it very clear that while she is living under his roof she will follow his rules or face the consequences.

Though the idea of having her pants and panties taken down for a bare-bottom spanking when she has been naughty leaves Cassie blushing, she cannot help wondering what it would be like to have a firm but loving daddy who cares enough to provide the correction she so desperately needs, and she decides to take James up on his offer.

Once she has moved in, Cassie wastes little time in putting her handsome host to the test, and she quickly earns herself a painful, embarrassing spanking. The stern punishment arouses her deeply, and when James takes her in his arms and makes her his own it is better than anything she has ever experienced. But it will take more than just a sore bottom to keep Cassie in line. Can James tame his headstrong little girl before her self-destructive behavior tears their relationship apart?

Publisher’s Note: Under Daddy’s Roof includes sexual scenes, spankings, and age play. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Low Res Erotica

Pixelated KissI’m currently working through a few different writing projects. While all fall under the erotica subgenre, each piece is independent of the others and requires a unique mindset to tackle it. With a couple paragraphs here and a few edits there, I’m making my way towards The End thrice over.

Please note that this isn’t my typical approach to writing, as I generally prefer to stick to one storyline, make some lucky gal’s buns nice n’ red along the way, and see it through to the happily ever after. And I’m slowly coming the realization that by splitting my erotic creativity, for lack of a better expression, among multiple projects simultaneously I may be delving into the world of “low res erotica.” In other words, the sexual tension isn’t quite taut enough, the individual scenes aren’t quite hot enough, the emotions aren’t quite palpable enough. Long story short, it ain’t good.

I’m not a fan of low res erotica.

Confessing to My Husband, or “Hey, by the way, I write smut now!”

WhisperWell, it’s official – the cat’s out of the bag! Over an insanely decadent celebratory dinner, I finally let my husband know that he’s married to a published author of wicked erotic fantasies. And then I sent him his very own copy of said wicked erotic fantasies.

When he finally lifted his jaw off the table, I told him that my family of fellow authors (and Twitter and blog followers) were expecting a full report on his response to my confession, and he graciously distilled it down to two main points:

1. He’s so incredibly proud of me that he could burst.
2. He’s always known I had it in me and can’t wait to see what I write next.

I am indeed an incredibly fortunate woman to have such a supportive husband who couldn’t be more pleased about my goals and successes.

P.S. He also threatened to spank my ass if I ever pulled a “surprise” like this again, so I guess I’m REALLY fortunate, huh?

On Writing Sex…and Keeping It Sexy

Panties OffThere are days when I’ll go heads-down and write without surfacing for hours. I’ll grab a cup of coffee, take a quick bathroom break, and get right back into it, eager to pick up where I left off. These are usually the days when my hottest, nastiest, sexiest ideas come to the forefront of my mind and I scramble to try and collect them at their most intense and lascivious.

And then there are days when I struggle to make it through a scene without resorting to using the word “boner”. Jesus.

Whether feast or famine, I find it’s helpful to remind myself that – just as in physical sexual relations – there are ebbs and flows when it comes to writing sex. Especially when you write erotica. The tension gets stagnant. The vocabulary you once savored falls flat. Your protagonists bump up against each other, all elbows and angles.

And just as in physical sexual relations, when you ride out the wonderful moments in waves of ecstasy, sometimes there’s a lull in the action until that next wave crests. But without that awkward, uncomfortable lull, you wouldn’t be able to appreciate the thrill of coasting that next wave to pure bliss.

So, now, about that boner…
