Triple Play Q&A with Willa Bradley

Hello all!

With me this week for the Triple Play Q&A is Willa Bradley and we’re taking a look at her debut novel, Harvest Moon Ride! I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to feature Ms. Bradley and her work, and I hope you enjoy getting to know her a bit better!

Welcome to the Triple Play, Willa!

Harvest Moon Ride -- CoverWilla Bradley lives in a remote area of North Carolina with her three wonderful basset hounds. Their days are filled with love and laughter. Nights are most often spent with the hounds basking in the firelight and Willa writing to put premium kibble in their bowls. When she’s not writing, Willa enjoys horseback riding, white water rafting, hiking with her dogs and baking from scratch.

And here’s a blurb for her debut novel, Harvest Moon Ride: Multiple world champion equestrienne, Etta Ross, has a dilemma. How does she rescue the small band of mustangs from the rustlers who want to smuggle them to Mexico for slaughter while avoiding a run in with the legendary Texas Rangers? If all she had to do was save the mustangs, her mission would be easy. But she runs afoul of sexy Texas Ranger, Brody Jensen, when she’s wounded and stranded on foot in the middle of nowhere. Not buying her explanation that she was out for a walk, Brody is bound and determined to protect Etta who is adamant that she can save herself. Brody is convinced that a few trips over his knee for a bare bottom spanking followed by his dominant lovemaking is just the remedy to Etta’s headstrong cowgirl ways.

Harvest Moon Ride is the first book in the Wild at Heart series. This is currently planned to be a four book series and the other novels are in various stages of the editing and writing process. In other words, saddle up and ride! 😉

And away we go with Willa Bradley’s Triple Play Q&A!

When you were growing up, who were the authors that made you want to become one yourself? What was it about their work that spoke to you?

Robert Ludlum, Leon Uris, Rosemary Rodgers, and Beatrice Small. Their ability to tell a story that transported you from who and where you were. The idea that heroes come in all sizes, shapes and sexes.

Have you ever had a moment (or moments) when you’ve considered giving up writing? If so, what helped you push through? If not, what keeps you motivated?

I came to writing later in life. I allowed other ambitions and goals to push the dream aside. What helped push me through was fellow author Piper Stone who went out of her way to encourage me and introduce me to her publisher, Blushing Books.

What keeps me motivated is the voices inside my head that keep whispering, “Excuse me, I have a story to tell.” I was a great fan of the TV Series Castle. The opening montage has Castle’s voice saying, “There are two kinds of folks who sit around thinking about how to kill people: Psychopaths and mystery writers. I’m the kind that pays better.” I feel that way about my characters, only my opening monologue would be, “There are two kinds of folks who sit around hearing voices in their heads: Schizophrenics and writers. I’m the kind that pays better.”

If you were an ice cream flavor, which would you be and why? 😉

Pecan praline. Rich and gooey and originating in New Orleans. It’s a bit unexpected, the flavor is complex and it tastes like autumn – my favorite time of year.

Thank you again, Willa, for joining me for the Triple Play Q&A! I hope you all have the chance to go check out  her debut novelHarvest Moon Ride, now available on Amazon.com!

Topsy Turvy 2018…and Loving Every Minute of It

Black & White Couple w. Lace

Okay, so I’ve got two quick confessions to make:

  1. The picture I’ve attached to this post has absolutely nothing to do with the subject matter of said post. It’s just sexy as hell and I wanted to share it with you. 😉 You’re welcome.
  2. Generally speaking, January is my least favorite month of the year.

It’s dark, it’s cold, it’s bleak, and it seems to go on forever. The Christmas decorations have all come down and the football season is nearly over. A brutal frigid snap is crossing the States and myriad responsibilities await my attention at my day job. By this point in my life, it’s a routine I’m used to and it never fails to leave me a bit down in the dumps. So when New Year’s Day rolled around again, I had every expectation that this January would play out like every other one before it. *insert sad trombone riff here*

But with a new book coming out any day now, some solid kinky ideas for new projects floating around my head, a healthy dose of naughtiness in the air, and a host of new friends that I never dreamed I’d have a year ago, this January is shaping up to be one of the best I’ve ever had!

So, thanks to all of you who are helping to make this January special! 😉

A Little Inspiration…and Some FREE Naughtiness for You!

Sexy Couple in Bed

I don’t often write about my writing process. Hell, I barely write about myself at all! Well, in the interest of turning over a new leaf as we draw ever nearer to 2018, I thought I’d talk a bit about inspiration—both what inspires me and also (hopefully) providing you with a bit of inspiration as well! 😉

Not long ago, I came across a new site in the kink world (and Seattle-based, no less!)—Wicked Daddy Academy—and took a look at some of their, ahem, unique toys. I may or may not have purchased a few (read: a shitload of) items. Purely for research purposes, I’m sure you understand… My first go-around (so to speak) with Wicked Daddy’s signature corkscrew made me a believer, and lo, the heavenly gates of inspiration opened up. *insert sophomoric euphemism about a screaming, sheet-twisting climax here* Well, I wrote a short story inspired by the toy and shared it with the creator to thank him and his team for a wholly new experience.

Wicked Daddy liked the story so much (see below), he’s shared it on his blog AND he’s offering a killer freebie to my readers as a token of his appreciation! Woohoo! If you visit his site and decide to buy something, when you get to the Shopping Cart section, you’ll find a “Special Instructions for Seller” box. Write “JayeEliseWrites” there and you’ll receive one of Wicked Daddy Academy’s Glass Rods (#1) for FREE—he’s even covering the additional shipping for the rod! Thanks, WD, for your generosity!

And for the inspiration… 😉

Cobalt Corkscrew“And have you been a good girl for your Daddy this week, baby girl?”

Lying back on the bed and completely nude, her head propped up on a pillow and legs splayed wide for the fully clothed man beside her, she wasted no time in responding.

“I’ve been so good, Daddy. No sassing, no whining, and most importantly, no coming. Just how Daddy likes it when we can’t be together during the week.” Each time they reunited, she looked forward to the ritual of reestablishing the dynamic between them. A perfect exchange of dominance and submission. A beautiful ceding of control to the man who was her everything.

“That’s what I love to hear, baby. What a good girl,” he praised her as he ran the back of his hand along her cheekbone and chin before dipping lower and twisting her nipple in a playful, lightly painful tease. “You know Daddy wishes he could be here with you all day, every day, but when he can’t, it makes him so happy knowing his baby girl is obeying his rules.” With his other hand, he slid a finger into her wetness before bringing it to his mouth and savoring her essence.

“And since you’ve been on your best behavior, I think it’s time to try something new with you. Something I’ve been holding on to for when you’ve been really good.” His grip tightened on her tender nipple and she winced as she inhaled sharply. “And I think the moment has come for you to get a nice little treat.”

It wasn’t a question, and she knew he didn’t expect a response, but it didn’t stop her from murmuring a quick thank you, Daddy. Releasing her nipple from between his fingers, he stood up and crossed the room to grab something from his dresser drawer. And when he returned to the bed, staring down at her with a look of frank, approving desire, she reveled in the need she saw in his eyes. So distracted by the dominance and possession in his gaze, at first she failed to notice the unfamiliar implement in his hand.

But when he held it out before her, inviting her to examine it, the sight of the new toy prompted her to close her legs. She didn’t know yet whether it was a protective or lascivious gesture, but knowing her Daddy, she had every suspicion it was the latter.

“Ah ah. You know the rules. Keep those legs open and that pussy accessible for your Daddy.” She spread her legs obediently, a warm flush creeping across her cheeks and chest.

The toy he held in his hand looked like some other glass toys they’d played with before. But yet so completely different. While most of the glass dildos he’d used on her were smooth, studded, or occasionally ridged, this particular toy was a perfectly smooth, deep blue corkscrew. A drill bit designed to tap into the core of her pleasure and release the wanton submissive within. A precision tool with one purpose and one purpose alone: to elicit pure sensation. And when wielded by a skilled craftsman such as her Daddy, she knew she was about to experience something truly sublime.

“Now, given that you’ve been such a good girl this week, and knowing how much my little girl doesn’t like her cold glass punishments—” she shuddered, a frisson of dread coursing through her, remembering the last time he’d used a refrigerated glass dildo in her ass, “—Daddy’s going to warm up your new toy before he uses it.”

Rubbing it between his hands, the corkscrew rose and fell between his deft palms, the solid glass clicking against the thick ring he always wore on his middle finger. “Now, let’s see what this magic wand can do, hm? I’m going to use that gorgeous pussy of yours today, baby, but someday I’ll be claiming your ass with this, too, so prepare yourself.” He winked at her, an eager smile setting up shop on his handsome face. “Hold yourself open for Daddy.”

“Yes, Sir,” she whispered, her hands sliding down her trembling belly toward her slick, bare folds. Using her long, perfectly manicured fingers, she spread her lips wide open for his inspection and to provide him access to her needy pussy.

“That’s my good girl,” he murmured, occupying the space between her legs. “Here we go, baby girl.” He ran the cool tip of the toy along the length of her slit, collecting the wetness that he’d already coaxed to the surface. Even just brushing against her swollen labia, she enjoyed the solid weight of the toy. But it wasn’t until he teased the first inch inside her that she truly understood how different the thick corkscrew was from anything she’d ever experienced.

“I’m going to twist a few times and then, while you’re getting used to it, I want you to use your muscles to grip it, baby.”

With a mumbled yes, Sir and her fingers vibrating against her needy sex, she watched him screw the toy into her as a wholly new sensation flooded her pussy. Even had he not ordered her to squeeze the phallus, her over-stimulated vagina would’ve done so anyway. While her conscious mind knew there were only a couple of thick ridges embedded in her, it felt as if they’d multiplied exponentially the moment he’d penetrated her.

“That’s my girl,” he cooed and encouraged her, “Another couple twists and a break for you to assimilate.” He sank the corkscrew ever deeper and an unrestrained moan escaped her lips. Her back arched off the bed, seeking as much contact with the new toy as her Daddy would permit. A fresh wave of her essence surged from her pussy and her wetness was now audible as she clenched around the toy, her Daddy lightly pumping it into her. Although she normally needed some clit stimulation to come, she was beginning to suspect that this unique implement—in Daddy’s skilled hands—was more than capable of nudging her over the edge.

“Getting close, little one? Like the feel of those ridges, do you?”

Given that she hadn’t stopped moaning since he’d slid it into her and she could barely hold herself still, his questions were more than a bit rhetorical, but she answered them nonetheless.

“Mmhmmm, Daddy…so good…so, so good…” she whimpered.

“That’s what I like to hear, baby. Now, you’re going to get one last hard push and then I want you to come for me.”

“Y-yes, Sir. P-please, Sir,” she stammered, not caring how desperate her voice sounded to his ears. And judging by the solid outline of his cock in his jeans, he loved hearing her pleas.

With a couple final twists and his palm pressed to the base of the toy, he sunk all six and half inches of the ridged glass into her pussy, fucking her senseless. The pressure against her cervix combined with the thick blades stroking her G-spot combined to sucker punch her with one of the strongest orgasms she’d ever had.

But as she screamed out her release, Daddy surprised her yet again with another feature of the new toy. Instead of unscrewing it from her clenched wetness, he drew the corkscrew straight out during her climax, triggering her to squirt and soaking the towel he’d so cleverly laid out beneath her before their play session.

Silly with blissful satisfaction and exhausted after her powerful release, she let go of her pussy lips and covered her smiling eyes with her forearm. “What did you just do to me, Daddy?” she giggled sleepily.

“Well, if you’re not sure, baby girl, I guess that means I need to do it again, hm?” Her eyes shot open and registered the devilish smirk on his face before a fresh surge of lust pumped through her veins.

“Now, open yourself up again for me, and let’s find out what this thing can really do…”

Sometimes It’s Nice…

Sensual Embrace

Sometimes it’s nice not to write anything.

To focus on a meaningful moment, let it happen, and savor it for what it is.

Sometimes it’s nice not to write anything.

To enjoy the stillness in your mind, appreciate what you have and all you’ve accomplished, and celebrate your successes.

Sometimes it’s nice not to write anything.

To channel your energy inward, calm the instinct to transcribe the moment, and let things be as they were meant to be.

Sometimes it’s nice…

Triple Play Q&A with Eliza David

Eliza David - 1Hello all!

For today’s Triple Play Q&A, I’ve got with me the witty, sassy, sharp, and sexy Eliza David! Ms. David writes pure, smart hotness and her tagline—Naughty Mind. Big Mouth. Strong Liver.—tells you everything you need to know about this dynamo! She also happens to be the first (and only, to date) Triple Play guest to provide a head shot—even though I didn’t have the cojones to include mine when she featured me on her blog! *grins sheepishly*

Although she may not realize it, Eliza was one of the reasons I decided to create the Triple Play Q&A in the first place. When I saw how she utilized her platform to support and feature other romance and erotica authors, I felt inspired to do the same. Thanks for always paying it forward!

And welcome to the Triple Play, Eliza!Eliza David - 5

Hi all! I’m Eliza David. I write hot fiction for cool women. My type of reader typically has dry wit, thick thighs, and thin patience. They like their reads hot, full of passion, and rife with drama. When I’m not writing the naughty words, I’m working full time, raising two of the loudest children in the world with my husband, and bingeing on Will and Grace reruns. I’ve penned nine books (first one’s FREE on Amazon!) and my latest was dropped in July 2017. It’s called The Follow – a tale of a famous R&B star struggling with a sex addiction while falling in love.

Great intro – thanks! And away we go with your Triple Play Q&A!

Of all the works/series that you’ve published so far, which has been the most rewarding and why?

I’d have to say the Cougarette Series. CeeCee Banks was my first character and owns a considerable part of my soul. I feel like every woman I’ve crafted has a piece of CeeCee inside of them. I love her and I thank her for unlocking my creativity.

Eliza David - 2

What motivates you to write?

There’s a drive for diversity in romance/erotica writer circles – and for good reason. My urge to tell the stories of black women in love motivates me to move the pen. The day I see one of my tales onscreen (and I will!) is the dangling carrot for me. Diverse voices in love stories are needed and I’m just blessed to be one of them!

List three of your guilty pleasures and tell us a little bit about why they appeal to you.

  • Jackie Collins’ novels. The late author is one of my literary inspirations. Her Santangelo Series is one of my faves – I own every one of the novels in hardcover!
  • Sex and the City. The show, the movies (well…the second movie, not so much 🙂 ), the clothes, the fashion, and – of course – the Blueprint: Samantha Jones.
  • Cheese Fries. The cheesier, the better!

Eliza David - 4Thank you so much for joining me, Eliza! Sweet mercy, woman…you had me a cheese fries. 😉 I hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about this wonderful, prolific, BUSY author! If you’d like to find out even more about Eliza, or would be interested in picking up some of her fantastic books, please click around the links below and go to town!

Triple Play Q&A with Kelly Dawson

With me today for the next installment of the Triple Play Q&A is the sweet and sensational Kelly Dawson! Kelly has officially earned the title of “Triple Play Q&A Participant Living Farthest Away from Jaye Elise.” (That’s got a nice ring to it, huh?) She’s a proud New Zealander who lets us peek into her beautiful world through her books, and has a nice way of making us blush in the process!

It is my most sincere pleasure to introduce Kelly Dawson!

Kelly Dawson - 1

Hi! I’m thrilled to be here with you on your blog today, Jaye!

I’m a 30-something mum of 4, living in an awesome little town right at the bottom of the world – the very South of the South Island of New Zealand! 🙂

I love horses, cowboys, rodeos and spanking, although not necessarily in that order, and I’ve been writing forever. Spanking stories, mostly, which I wrote on whatever scraps of paper I could find in the house. My poor mother is still mortified, but she’s happy that my early-discovered talents have been put to good use. 🙂 And yes, she knows my pen name! She even has paperback copies of my books, but I think she’s too scared to read them.

Kelly Dawson - 2

I have Tourette’s Syndrome, which I’ve included in two of my books, and which has, to a large extent, shaped my life. I’m also a klutz. And right now, I’m trying to get used to brand new glasses, which has turned me into even more of a klutz. I used to trip over cracks in the concrete. Now I trip over absolutely nothing! I’ve turned tripping into an art form and have probably broken a world record while doing it. Hopefully, my eyes adjust soon, before I break anything! I’m also learning how to strain the veggies for dinner when the steam fogs up my glasses, and am debating whether or not being able to see properly is worth all the minor injuries I’m doing to myself. Right now, as I nurse a burned finger and bruised ankle, and can see all my grey hair and wrinkles with perfect clarity in the mirror, I’m going with “no”. Being half-blind definitely has its advantages! Although, as my kids tell me, “you look like a real author now, Mum!” So maybe I’ll keep the glasses. 🙂

If you haven’t read my books yet, please check me out! I’ve got 8 books out now – everything from Kiwi rural contemporary romance and age play to sci-fi and westerns!

Kelly Dawson - 3

Time to get our Triple Play Q&A kicked off!

Name a couple of your “desert island” books and why you’d choose them?

Oooh, that’s hard! Do you know how many books I’ve read repeatedly, and how many favourite authors I have? I don’t have enough fingers to name them all!

But I think it would have to be Loki Renard’s Military Discipline series with Captain Savage and Zora Matthews. I’ve read these 3 books over and over again and I’m still not sick of them. I fell in love with Captain Savage the first time I ‘met’ him on “Bethany’s Woodshed” many years ago. He’s huge, sexy, totally alpha male. He wears a military uniform, he’s strict but compassionate underneath it all, and he spanks! What’s not to like? Then throw in Zora – an incorrigible alcoholic accountant genius who seems completely and utterly unable to obey orders – and sparks fly! It’s a great, entertaining read, and Loki’s wit comes through in her writing. I’m a big fan!

And mainstream…it would have to be anything by Australian rural romance writer Therese Creed. She wrangles farming, writing, and raising 5 kids! What an inspirational woman! And she writes the most amazing heroes and strong, capable heroines. I can read her work over and over.

What are you currently working on?

Kelly Dawson - 5Yay, an easy question! My WIP is a follow-on from Daddies Take Control, which was the stand-alone sequel to Daddy Takes the Reins. So you could say it’s the 3rd book in the series. Except that when I first wrote Daddy Takes the Reins, I didn’t have a series in mind and I still don’t, really, but the characters just won’t leave me alone. I put so much of me into Bianca – one of my two heroines who have Tourette’s Syndrome – and fell so much in love with both the characters and the story, that I can’t say goodbye to them.

This new WIP doesn’t have a title yet, not even a tentative one, but it’s set in rural New Zealand, on a farm this time instead of a racing stable, very close to where I live. The sexy cowboy Daddy Dom in this book is a bull rider. He’s strong, tough, ruggedly handsome, totally dominant, but oh-so-sweet and gentle at the same time. If you loved the first two books, you’re going to love this one! I even dream about this guy, he’s THAT HOT!!

What’s your adult beverage of choice?

Coffee! That, and L&P*.

I very rarely drink, but when I do, I enjoy a chilled glass of sparkling feijoa wine, or Midori and lemonade. Just one glass, though. Because I hardly ever drink, me and alcohol are not good friends. On one of our early dates, my man took me to this nice restaurant and I had two Midoris. Double shots, mind you, but still… Anyway, after the meal we went outside and I promptly fell over in the garden. But he still married me! We’ve been married 15 years now and he still occasionally laughs at me for not being able to drink.

I’ve never been drunk. Ever. In my WIP there’s a drinking scene, and I’m having to “research” – a.k.a. annoying all my friends with inane questions about how it feels to be drunk. I think they’re going to disown me.

*Jaye’s Notes: I’d never heard of L&P before, so for those of you who were wondering what it was, I just looked it up and it sounds delicious! It’s a lemon flavored soft drink whose tagline is “World Famous in New Zealand” – gotta love the tongue-in-cheekiness of it! 🙂

Kelly Dawson - 6Thanks, Kelly, for taking a moment out of your busy day to share a little more about yourself! It’s been a pleasure having you here…and can’t wait to meet your new hunky Daddy Dom! If you’d like to find out even more about Kelly Dawson, or would be interested in picking up some of her fantastic books, please click around the links below and go to town!

Wonder Woman’s Kinky Backstory?

Wonder Woman 1Okay, okay, I admit it – the title is total clickbait. After all, what could be hotter than Wonder Woman…and kink?? But now that you’re here, how about you take a gander and find out some fun (sexy) facts about Wonder Woman’s origins. And when I say “origins,” I’m not referring to Diana, Princess of Themyscira’s origin story, but rather to the man who created this goddess and gave the world one of its most recognizable, strongest feminist superheroes.

In 1941, writer and psychologist William Moulton Marston (pen name: Charles Moulton) created Wonder Woman. Incidentally, Marston was also instrumental in the development of the polygraph machine. But where’s the kink you promised, Jaye? Well, here you go! For starters, Marston and his wife Elizabeth were involved in a polyamorous relationship with Olive Byrne, the woman largely credited with providing the inspiration for Wonder Woman’s appearance, especially her iconic bracelets. All three were fervent feminists and Marston would explain, “Wonder Woman is psychological propaganda for the new type of woman who should, I believe, rule the world.” While his idea that Wonder Woman “would triumph not with fists or firepower, but with love,” may ring as decidedly non-feminist according to our modern sensibilities, his foresight in creating a vehicle for a strong female comic book lead character was unheard of during the 1940s.

Of course, one of the kinkiest elements in the comic books and in the subsequent TV iterations of the iconic goddess is that of bondage. Diana often finds herself tied up and held at the mercy of her foes, invariably escaping through her own cunning and strength. This is largely due to the fact that Marston aimed to subvert the ‘damsel in distress’ trope – Wonder Woman can rescue herself, dammit! But isn’t it hot to see her all tied up in the first place? Why, yes. Yes, it is. And it’s quite likely that Marston agreed with us wholeheartedly, at one point describing bondage and submission as “a respectable and noble practice.” A gorgeous, nearly omnipotent feminist all tied up, who then releases herself from bondage? Hot damn… No wonder she’s been around for nearly 80 years.

Wonder Woman 2

For all of the fascinating details of how Wonder Woman has evolved over the years, how she became a feminist icon, and even how she (briefly) became an Honorary Ambassador to the UN, please refer to her Wikipedia article, the same source for the information I’ve included in this post.

The Ring, or How to Keep on Keepin’ On When It Comes to Writing

triskelion ringWhether it’s blogging, finding time to scribble down that haiku that’s been gnawing at your brain all day, or penning the Great American (Erotic) Novel, unfortunately, it can be far too easy to make excuses not to write.

I’m tired. My family’s needs come first. My creative well hath run dry. I just don’t wanna write tonight. Et cetera ad infinitum (a Latin phrase meaning “excuses only satisfy those who make them”).

And, believe me, I get it. But if you’re passionate about writing – truly committed to the exercise and to your desired goal (self-fulfillment, publication, or something else entirely) – then you must make writing a daily priority. You need to hold yourself accountable to whip off that blog post, craft that sexy, witty dialogue, or choose the perfect words to round out your free verse.

In my case, I keep a reminder to write on hand at all times. Literally. Years ago, before we were married, my devastatingly wonderful husband got me a little ring as a gift. Once our wedding bands went on, though, the ring got tossed into the jewelry box and nearly forgotten. After a few miserably failed attempts at writing a novel – constantly derailing myself with excuses – I realized that I needed to hold myself to a higher standard. I required a reminder, each and every day, to sit my butt down and write. And that’s when I remembered the ring. Slipping it on my right hand, it sits there, spurring me on and encouraging to make myself and my writing a priority. Plus, it also reminds me that my husband is my biggest cheerleader – an added bonus!

My point is that whatever you have to do to make writing a part of your daily life, do it. Set a reminder in your calendar with a block of time reserved just for you. Take a few minutes during your lunch break to jot down the choice quips you want to come out of your protagonist’s mouth. Go out for a quick walk with the dog and plot out some of the key elements of your sci-fi, rom-com, mystery thriller. Wear a ring to keep yourself accountable. Whatever works for you, make it happen.

And write.
